In 2019, CNN’s Great Big Story covered our Dine and Dialogue community engagement initiative. Dine and Dialogue was the beginnings of our Executive Director, Hudda Ibrahim’s efforts to build a more equitable, welcoming, and connected community among Central Minnesota’s diverse residents. Dine and Dialogue convened individuals from diverse backgrounds in a facilitated, informal setting, encouraging them to ask the question they were most curious about in a respectful way to dispel misconceptions about their neighbors from various walks of life, all while sharing a meal together. From this initiative, spung the successive events that led to the creation of OneCommunity Alliance.
